I was honored to be chosen as one of the 125 nominees (from 250 women nominated) for San Diego's Woman of the Year. Celebrated at the Contemporary Museum of Art in La Jolla with Mom and Wife-y.

Super excited that I was given the opportunity to speak about morning pages and the importance of a daily writing practice for 100 at the Southwest Writers meeting. After, I led a two-hour mini-Artist's Way intensive for a great group. Check out this org if you're ever in Albuquerque--such a great group.
I can't believe that this month marks five years reviewing San Diego theater. That first year especially I saw so much--it didn't matter if it was a high school production of "The Producers" or a Shakespeare production at an old folks home. (Yes, both of those are real examples.) I just wanted to see as many shows I had not seen at as many venues as I could in San Diego. It gave me truly unique (and free!) insight into the arts in this city.
In addition, I was able to serve on the production and nominating committees of the Bravo Awards for three years. Below is a photo of the other reviewers and I in 2013. I owe you big time, Rob Appel! |
