When George (Bailey) and I were artistic directors at this funky theater by the beach, this was the logo. We got to nurture a lot of talent here during our shows: "Somewhere in Between"; "Godspell"; "Boeing, Boeing"; and "Spider Baby The Musical. "
Lynne and Paul (owners) have since moved on, but Bill and Jennie Connard are running the show there now. I've been in to discuss several ideas with them, and they are very receptive. Out of the blue though, I got an opportunity from someone else to direct there though... So stay tuned for the next show I'll be directing here in January! I'm exhausted from being at work from 8am to 8pm last night. BUT I am overjoyed that we had a successful Fall For Writing conference (our fifth total, my fourth). It's so cool to showcase what we offer as an organization to those just getting their feet wet writing wise. I always come away inspired and grateful after this event. Double this year because I got to teach my shortest Artist's Way intensive ever--just an hour and forty-five minutes.
Oh, and I need this shirt, thanks. For the last few years, my dear friend Janelle has asked me to help out with her website--Being Skin Deep--by brainstorming and editing. I love that it's a non-traditional beauty blog...you get the makeup, the style, and then the deeper stuff. Real life tough stuff that "real" women don't always get a platform to discuss. She keeps asking me to contribute, and one of these days I'm going to do it. For now, though, check out the awesome site I've had a small hand in cultivating.
*By the way, this is my silly contributor photo on the About page. ...I may or may not have found this plant on the sidewalk to pose with and stole it. |
